Kent Documentary Wedding Photographs | Reportage Photographer Kent
Some nice words from some nice people....
"Having viewed the work of several well known photographers, my husband and I were struck by the professionalism, quality and free expression shown in Allister’s work. Warmly welcomed and instantly at ease in his company, we knew on discussing what we wanted that Allister was more than capable.
On the day of the wedding, on time and immaculately dressed, Allister, despite the pre-wedding chaos that every bride can testify to, moved discreetly around the house capturing those key tender and candid moments that will forever mean so much to my family, all the while never once making us aware of his presence.
At the church and later at the reception Allister’s diligence never faulted providing us with a truly marvellous array of photographs that we will treasure forever. Indeed Allister’s style was so relaxed that he was on several occasions mistaken for a guest which must act as testament to his unobtrusive nature.
I mean every word - we all think your fantastic!"
Wow! Thank you very much to Charlotte, Jeremy and both families. I documented their beautiful wedding in Kent recently and below are just a few of my very favourites...

For the photographers following my Canon to Nikon switch - this is the very last Canon post, watch this space for the new Nikon work...(very pleased)

love the last one - I'll be back! :)
Hi, I'm very interested in Linux but Im a Super Newbie and I'm having trouble deciding on the right distribution for me (Havent you heard this a million times?) anyway here is my problem, I need a distribution that can switch between reading and writing in English and Japanese (Japanese Language Support) with out restarting the operating system.
nice post. thanks.
Gorgeous work.
Looking forward to seeing the Nikon shots... I have only ever used Nikons so I have been very curious about the Canon 5D M11. Will you be using f4 zooms more now that you can soot in the dark? :)
Thanks Stephen, I'm very pleased with the Nikon files and although they give me more ISO capability I'll be sticking to my primes. For me, primes focus my mind on image making more so than if I'm using a zoom. I also tend to not go beyond f4 - unless required, and primes have stunning image quality at the larger, more open apertures which is where I do a lot of work. Thanks for your interest - Nikon files will be online soon....
I second shot at my very first wedding last weekend (haven't done one on my own yet!) and it was also one of the first times I had used my new D700. The church was extremely dark forcing me up to ISO 5000 to get a decent enough shutter speed for my 70-200 2.8 and the results were fantastic! I was quite nervous going that high but I need not have been! The D700 is fantastic.
This is good post. I think still you should add more video and pictures because it helps understanding :)
I absolutely love your work Allister, I think you're one of my favorite Documentary wedding photographers. Those last 5 pictures are amazing!
Looking forward to seeing your Nikon work, or at least your opinion of it anyway. (d3s I presume?)
Thanks Joseph - much appreciated.
Actually, I've been using a couple of D700 bodies as I prefer to work with smaller, less shouty cameras. It has all I need plus more.
Keep an eye on the blog for the Nikon work, will be interested to hear your opinion.
Really great work Allister.
I especially like the second to last picture - the energy and emotion during the speeches has been brilliantly captured.
Looking forward to comparing with the Nikon shots now!
