Chewton Glen Wedding Photographer
Thirty five minutes from London by helicopter, the versatility of the location makes the job of documentary wedding photographers in Hampshire very rewarding. If you love to be beside the sea and would like to stay in one of the best country house hotels in Britain, let alone Hampshire, then where better to have your wedding day than at the privately owned and run Chewton Glen wedding venue on the Hampshire coast.
Its prestigious reputation was built by couple Martin and Brigitte Skan's consistently persistent attention to detail for four decades before retiring in 2006. When they bought this Hampshire wedding venue it had 8 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms but within six months each bedroom had its own bathroom and now there are 35 bedrooms plus 23 suites, all thoughtfully and beautifully designed and decorated. They added their award winning spa in 1990, designed around a 17 metre ozone (removes most of the chlorine) treated pool with trompe l'oeil ceiling and Romanesque architectural features. The spa has been doubled in size by the addition of a huge, circular, hydrotherapy pool designed in the same style as the other, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking their immaculate grounds - great to explore with your Hampshire documentary wedding photographer. You will be pampered by their highly qualified team of professionals and, between treatments, you can relax on the heated poolside loungers or enjoy a light lunch at the pool bar.
The stream running through the 130 acre grounds of this stunning Hanpshire wedding venue actually separates Hampshire from Dorset. The grounds are a great location for a picnic or for meandering down to the seaside (ideal for documentary wedding photographers or photojournalists looking for very candid, lifestyle photography - Chewton Glen even provide wellies for you!) and you could make an adventure of it by expanding your expedition into the bordering New Forest National Park. Other leisure facilities include an excellent par 3, nine hole, 900 yard golf course with putting green and practice range and two indoor and outdoor all-weather tennis courts - and you can hire the services of a professional to help you along. Chewton Glen can arrange almost anything which is what makes this a great destination hotel and as it is by the sea there are sailing, boating and fishing packages to choose from too. The Cowes Week package would be a luxurious pre wedding treat, the hotel being able to charter with or without a skipper.
Ideal for all of your family, Chewton Glen can provide the complete package for your wedding, from the ceremony through to the morning after the night before and they will even look after your car for a whole month while you're away on your honeymoon cruise. Most of the bedrooms have a private terrace, garden or balcony and you can choose the design style that suits you, ranging from the traditional to the contemporary and all well finished and air conditioned. Duplex suites, for instance, are totally self sufficient with a sitting room and cloakroom on the ground floor opening out onto a courtyard with a spacious bedroom and bathroom upstairs - King sized beds are standard at Chewton Glen.
There are three areas licenced for Hampshire civil ceremonies:
The Morning Room, which overlooks the manicured croquet lawn and is the hotel lounge, is licenced for up to 60 wedding guests. It lets in plenty of natural light so is ideally suited to documentary wedding photographers.
