Oakley Hall Wedding Photographer

Oakley Hall is an impressive, red brick, eighteenth century, Hampshire wedding venue within a large estate of 315 acres near Basingstoke. It is a fabulous location for the documentary Hampshire wedding photographer to successfully acquire natural and candid wedding photography.

Hilsea College until 1992, the buildings have now been totally restored and modernised but great care has been taken to retain their original character and detail. The porte corchere has been glazed which harmonises with the glass corridor that attaches the main house to a 'permanent' marquee, a versatile and spacious wedding venue area which is ideal for your Hampshire documentary wedding photographer and wedding photojournalist. A broad drive sweeps round a circular lawn and deposits you at the red carpeted porte carchere where its steps take you up to the high ceilinged and galleried reception area.

The estate has developed a good reputation for clay pigeon shooting and has a variety of packages to suit all needs and capabilities, and not just for the boys. It would be a fun location for a Hampshire pre wedding shoot too - no pun intended.

The eighteen air conditioned bedrooms and suites on the estate were opened in early 2009 and come fully equipped with all the modern conveniences one comes to expect.

The following have been licenced for civil ceremonies, the largest of which is the

Marquee which has three permanent sides but the fourth glazed panel can be lifted so that you can have a barbecue or hog roast on the terrace. The light and airy space makes wedding photography for a Hampshire wedding photographer very rewarding. The totally self sufficient Marquee has a permanent kitchen, bar, is fully carpeted and centrally heated. It can cater for 200 seated wedding guests increasing to 300 when the marquee is extended.

The Library is a very gracious and intimate setting with panelled walls and stuccoed ceiling. Can seat up to 26 wedding guests.

The Garden Room can cater for 60 seated diners and opens out onto the private terrace with views over the grounds.

The Austen's Room is a light and airy ground floor room which can accommodate 48 wedding guests seated.

The Alton Room situated on the first floor of the hall and can seat 24.

The Steventon room also on the first floor and seats 60 wedding guests.

There is a very pleasant Dutch Garden at the rear with neat box hedging and a fountain beyond and many mature trees in the distance.

Known as Hall Place in the eighteenth century, it was completely remodelled in 1795 and became Oakley Hall at the beginning of the nineteenth century. It is located in Jane Austen country and it is said that Mansfield Park is based on Oakley Hall and certainly she and the owners at the time, the Bramstons, were close friends.
