Fanhams Hall Wedding Photographer

The quality and character of Fanhams Hall was really established at the turn of the twentieth century when the house was redeveloped and enlarged in the Jacobean style for family use. It’s a magnificent backdrop for Kent reportage wedding photographers to use, inside or out.

At the same time a formal Japanese garden was created. Designed and built by Mr Inaka and Professor Suzuki respectively, parts of it are Grade 2 listed, as is the Hall (they even travelled from Japan to maintain it). The garden includes a mini mountain, Fuji-Yama, made from the spoils of two lakes which are spanned by ornate bridges. From its peak you might be able to catch sight of all 17 of its Japanese granite lanterns of varying sizes. But the pièce de résistance for couples must surely be the delightful wooden two storeyed Japanese tea house called Sei-Shin-Tei or House of the Pure Heart - where better to hold your ceremony and get romantic reportage wedding photography?

Fanhams Hall doesn’t only look good on the outside. The oak panelled Great Hall has a minstrels’ gallery and fabulous tiled fireplace; the first floor oak panelled Long Gallery and decorative plastered ceiling; the Lounge lined with walnut, inlaid with mother of pearl, to name but a few of the established public rooms.

For modern documentary wedding photographers, there is the contemporary Japanese style Pavilion which overlooks the lake and gardens. It seats 130 (200 for a reception) as does the Long Gallery.

Many areas are licensed, including in the grounds, for civil and partnership ceremonies.

There are seventy seven bedrooms, some on the ground floor, should you wish to stay overnight and, of course, their events team are very amenable to your wishes.
