I’m Allister Freeman, an established London wedding photographer with many years’ experience of covering weddings in London, the UK and Europe. My wedding photography has led me to working with London couples across a variety of cultures and faiths and in all kinds of interesting locations – photographing traditional ceremonies to the downright quirky and everything in between.
The big smoke, The City, The Capital. However you know it, however close, there's no place like London for diversity.
A melting pot of cultures, faiths, languages, origins, tastes and views. No two stops or boroughs are the same, and this diversity is the reason I love being a London wedding photographer so much.
All of the hidden treasures, secret spots, and world famous landmarks London is known and admired for. There’s something for every bride and groom in this beautiful region - small and intimate ceremonies to large affairs, from the very traditional and religious to the wacky, weird and wonderful.
Looking for timeless grandeur for your London wedding day and subsequent photographs? Consider getting married at The Dorchester, famous for its exquisite charm and a popular choice for the stars. Weddings at Hampton Court Palace are always spectacular, further out into London’s countryside borders and steeped in royal history.

Though you’ll find many high-budget wedding venue options in London, the city does have the advantage of being home to hundreds and hundreds of hotels and on a spectrum of prices. Those looking for the big grand gesture should head to The Landmark Hotel, with its 11 banquet rooms, ornate high ceilings, grand pianos and breath-taking colonial style reception courtyard. Every room in this lavish London hotel stuns more than the last, it’s a wedding photographers dream! That said, celebrating your love doesn’t have to come at a high cost, there are some truly gorgeous options right in the heart of the action waiting to be found – the Hilton at London Bridge, for example, or Belair House in Dulwich - a stunning Georgian manor with ample outdoor space for wedding receptions.
The beauty of planning a wedding in London is that there’s just so much room to think outside the box. Those who know London well will know about the lush green utopia to explore at The Barbican, and be pleased to know that you can actually hold your wedding within its inspirational conservatory. Share your most precious moments amidst an oasis of tropical plants, right in the heart of the city of London! Alternatively, instead of escaping to the jungle, immerse yourself in urban life and say your vows at The Banking Hall, underneath white marble columns

As a documentary wedding photographer, London or otherwise, I’ve developed the ability to be exceptionally discreet during weddings. This enables me to photograph highly candid and personal wedding photography that accurately encapsulates the day. This sincerity in my photos is why I believe that shooting with a documentary approach to wedding photography is best, and London really lends itself to this very natural style of wedding photography. From the beautiful and historic city architecture to culture and religion, there’s always the potential to develop incredibly engaging wedding images with a strong sense of narrative and context wedding working across London in its diverse boroughs.
My years of experience as a documentary wedding photographer in London have taught me there's a story to be told around every corner, and through every little alley in London. Put simply, documentary wedding photography is the art of storytelling. It’s a style that doesn’t dictate or direct, but rather captures genuine moments as they naturally occur throughout the day – nothing forced - only authentic and honest coverage.
I've been working as a documentary wedding photographer in London for many years now and have vast experience across differing faiths, cultures, wedding styles and types.
Reportage wedding photography is simply another phrase you may have come across whist researching into my particular style and approach to natural wedding photography - in London and further afield. It's one of several words often used to describe the same fundamental photographic approach - one that doesn’t dictate or direct.
As a reportage wedding photographer, I focus on the emotion and excitement of the day to depict the true essence of a wedding; the personalities, atmosphere, the key stages and all of the beautiful little moments in-between. The simplicity of reportage wedding photographs can belie the skills required of a photographer, skills that include perfect timing, intuitive placement and a sympathetic awareness of the subtlest of interactions between bride, groom and wedding guests.
