Hello, I'm Ian Martindale, an associate photographer of Allister Freeman Photography.
I work to discretely photograph moments that tell the true story of your wedding as they occur naturally, without interference or direction. I believe in creating family heirlooms for my customers with photography that will stand the test of time and be treasured by generations to come.
As a reportage wedding photographer, I endeavour to create storytelling images that form an honest record of your wedding day, I like to work in an unobtrusive manner - blending in with your guests while documenting close to the action. Capturing natural moments without influencing or directing them is particularly important to me.
Grinkle Park Hotel wedding photography
Monday, May 13, 2013 at 6:04PM As this years outside temperature started to warm up (slightly), Claire & Robin celebrated their marriage at Grinkle Park Hotel in beautiful Easington, North Yorkshire.
Documenting Claire & Robin's wedding was particularly special for me, as I'd had the fortune of living with Robin in my final year at the University of York and it was a real honour to be commissioned to record the beginning of his marriage to Claire.
Below are a few of my favourite images, from the union of loving families and the re-union of dear friends.
Congratulations Claire & Robin!

A vow renewal at Liverpool Crowne Plaza
Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1:56PM Earlier this year I had the pleasure of documenting Joanne & Jonathan's vow renewal ceremony at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool. The hotels charactaristic 1930's archictecture and strong aviation heritige provided the back drop to an intimate day shared with family and close friends.
I have the pleasure, on a very regular basis, of documenting the beginning of a couples married life with the exchange of their vows. It was a real privelidge to see Joanne & Jonathan renew their commitment to each other.
Below are a few of my favourite images from the day:

Why I am now part of the Allister Freeman Photography collective
Friday, March 1, 2013 at 8:37AM I've been a documentary wedding photographer for a number of years, in that time I've enjoyed seeing my portfolio and business grow. I've been working with Allister since mid 2012 on a project of long term professional development and have had the pleasure of working closely with both Allister and his key associate Andy.
Joining the Allister Freeman Photography collective as an associate photographer has been the next development in my career. It's a fabulous opportunity to be part of a great brand where I now have the benefit of a shared pool of skills and resources that are greater than the sum of their parts, aimed at delivering excellent reportage wedding photography to our clients.
