More on Allister's Style

Wedding Photojournalism

Allister's photography style is essentially wedding photojournalism, as he is happier working with available light and a candid, documentary style of coverage.

Photojournalism is, by definition, a literal portrayal of actual events and wedding photojournalism is simply a natural development.

When wedding photojournalism is successfully created; the photojournalist accurately documenting the proceedings, when the album is viewed in thirty years time it should tell the story of how the day really was. The images will not be dated and when viewed they should remind the subject of a specific emotion experienced at that time. Allister's photojournalism is authentic and honest, he always aims to reproduce moments as they were.

Allister's photojournalistic style is not demanding or pushy, guests are always put at complete ease which allows him to capture a true representation of a person's character. Ideally, wedding photojournalism will reproduce the story and the personalities in it, whereas the more traditional style of photography tends to mask these areas and ultimately the images will date.

Allister is a member of the Wedding Photojournalists Association. Only 5% of photographers internationally are accepted as members - an exceptionally high acceptance process.
"Wow - What an amazing photojournalist!  Allister's photographs have a timeless quality and his professional approach means you do not need to worry about anything on the day."
