The UK’s Top 50 Wedding Photographers 2016

Very pleased to have been shortlisted as a top 50 wedding photographer in the UK by the Go Hen blog! There's some real talent in the UK industry at the moment so I'm very pleased.

Here's a little blurb from my shortlisting...

Style: Reportage, natural, contemporary

Where: London & UK

The thing that struck us about Allister Freeman is how much attention he pays to the smallest details; the make-up, the straightening of the bow-tie, the nervous glass of bubbly with the bridesmaids and the moment where the groom lays eyes on the bride are all caught in his unique, creative blend of contemporary and reportage.

Wedding Photography at Elmore Court | James & Harriet's Wedding Reportage in Gloucestershire

I photographed James and Harriet's wedding recently alongside my talented colleague Joshua Archer, the entire day took place at the sensational Elmore Court in Gloucestershire.

Both Harriet and James had complete faith in our reportage style - opting to have no family group photographs over the course of the day. Their confidence in our approach allowed us to concentrate entirely on making reportage wedding photography resulting in images that have so much more authenticity than a staged photograph.

We could not be more pleased with the final collection of images. Below are just a few of our very favourites from this fun wedding in Gloucestershire.

Lou & Will's Wedding at Elm Farm Organic Research Centre

Will and Lou's DIY wedding at Elm Farm was an immensely fun day to cover! In fact, I've been itching to blog this beautiful wedding for quite a few months, having photographed it last Halloween!

The reason behind this is I've been designing and building this new website we're on now. Anyone that's done this will be all too aware of how time-consuming a task it is!

Back to this lovely Berkshire wedding... I first worked with Will and Lou during their engagement shoot on Greenham Common on the outskirts of Newbury. It's an absolutely stunning area of heathland that I happen to know very well, thankfully we had incredible weather for the shoot which took place last spring.

These shoots really are the best way for us to get to know each other a little more before the big day. I don't put people in awkward poses or expect them to run towards (or even acknowledge) the camera - it's just a walk and talk and the wedding photography is simply a biproduct of this.

The wedding day all took place in Berkshire with a small church service swiftly followed by a very fun wedding reception at the Elm Farm Organic Research Centre.

For me, one of the best things about getting married in October is the light, it's just beautiful! The low, warm winter sun that creates so many different tones, angles and shadows, ideal for documentary wedding photography.

The Halloween theme was carried off perfectly with Lou and Will's (but mainly Lou's) attention to detail being well worth the effort.

Here are just a few of my favourite natural wedding photos from this Halloween themed wedding in Berkshire.
