The Greatest Escape Ascot Wedding - Georgina & Ashley

April 8, 2022

Set in the beautiful historic town of Ascot in Berkshire, Georgina and Ashley’s day went without a hitch… oh, apart from the best man dropping Georgina’s wedding ring through a crack in the wooden floor of the bandstand whilst handing the ring to Ashley… GAH!

Later in the day, a maintenance guy retrieved the ring, and an ad hoc ring exchange ensued, and the best man was forgiven :)

A champagne drinks reception swiftly followed their beautiful, single-ring ceremony, with some hilarious speeches and highly entertaining garden games!

In truth, the ring mishap only made the day more memorable and endearing, as did Georgina and Ashley’s reassuring response to their best man.

The venue itself is stunning, built in 1886 specifically for the Duke of Richmond. The space consists of majestic woodland, lavender-sprinkled gardens, a lake, and a more modern swimming pool.

Below are just a few of my favourites natural images from this fun, chilled and super relaxed wedding day in Berkshire.

Lincoln's Inn Wedding - Emily & Matthew

March 6, 2022

From the very beginning of the day, this couple were an absolute pleasure to work with. As were their bridesmaids and groomsmen!

It began, like it so often does, with the bride preparing for her big day. Hair and makeup, which can be a stressful occasion for some brides, was an affair filled with fun and happiness. The bridesmaids, dressed in rich, wine red dressing gowns and comfy slippers, made sure the dresses were ready as the bride sat patiently, straighteners and combs flying! Gifts, hugs, and laughter were shared.

Meanwhile, the boys were getting jazzed up in their suits and making sure every hair was in place! Roses were placed in pockets, bow ties were straightened, and the small butterfly pin on Matthew’s lapel was polished.

There was much excitement as Emily arrived at the chapel in a classic blue soft-top Porsche. Inside the chapel, at the prestigious Lincoln’s Inn in London, magnificent stained glass windows were the backdrop for this special occasion, adorning the back wall of the church almost from floor to ceiling.

Emotion began to well up even as Emily’s father walked her down the aisle, and the beautiful solo violin soundtrack only made it more moving. Matthew and Emily wasted no time saying their vows and were all smiles as they headed back up the aisle and outside to celebrate!

Surprisingly, the weather behaved itself on this particular day and we even had some sunlight! It didn’t stick around for long, but it added a nice warm shine to the natural photos of Emily and Matthew strolling through the gardens as husband and wife, although the couple themselves provided most of that glow.

Emily & Matthew

Today is the start of a brand new story…

And of course, it wouldn’t have been complete without a mini family shoot, including the family sausage dog, dressed to the nines as part of his role as Best Dog!

Then it was time for the festivities! Drinks in a warm, wood-panelled room preceded dinner, and gave everyone the chance to personally congratulate the happy couple.

Dinner was set in a spectacular hall, panelled in dark wood and with stunning art placed throughout. There’s no denying this is a distinguished location, and the prestige comes across in the decor.

A blend of subtle hanging lights and elaborate candle holders gave it a cosy and romantic atmosphere, perfect for the kind of celebration it was!

As always, the celebration included heartfelt speeches that had both tears and uncontrollable laughter spilling out. This is what the best weddings are made of - raw, unfiltered emotion!

After an intimate first dance, the floor was open for fun and wild dancing! Between the flowing drinks, the array of crazy props, and the excessive joy that was spread throughout the room, the occasion was one to remember.

Not only for the happy couple, but for everyone involved - even the invisible photographer, hiding in the background, under the tablecloths, and around every corner!

Bethnal Green Wedding Photography - Charlotte and Nathan

January 21, 2022

Despite the weather being typically rainy on the day of Charlotte and Nathan’s wedding, the attitude and atmosphere were bright and cheery! The joy of the day was apparent from the very first moment of the day.

We began the photography journey with Charlotte as she prepared for the occasion. Hair and makeup work was minimal - Charlotte has a true beauty that radiated from her as got ready to meet Nathan at the church.

The church itself was beautiful and photo-worthy. A light brick facade featuring old-school turrets and stunning stained glass windows greeted the gents as they walked from their place of waiting. No sitting around for these guys!

Inside, the cheerful red carpet was perfect to carry the bride down to the altar. Flowers adorned the pews as the guests slowly filled up the space. Spirits were high all round!

Anticipation heightened as the bride arrived. The rain didn’t stop the excitement, and although Charlotte’s father had to escort her inside with an umbrella, she arrived looking radiant and more than ready for the main event!

First to take the journey down the aisle were the bridesmaids, dressed in a rich navy blue that contrasted really nicely with the brightly coloured carpet in the church.

Finally came the moment everyone was waiting for: a stunning Charlotte escorted by her father, carrying a plain but elegant orange and white bouquet. In contrast to many weddings I shoot, Charlotte wore a plain, flowing dress and light embellishments in her hair. Natural beauty.

Waiting at the other end was her groom-to-be, Nathan, looking like a dashing Hugh Jackman! There was no sign of nervousness between bride and groom when they met at the front of the church. If anything, they shared a couple of mischievous smiles, like they knew something the rest of us didn’t!

I don’t think either of them stopped smiling throughout the entire ceremony. As they said their vows, I couldn’t think of a more beautiful spot to become man and wife. The overcast light spilled through the three spectacular stained glass windows at the front of the church, illuminating the couple as their first kiss made it official.

Once the ceremony was finished, I had the chance to capture some intimate photos of the couple in the lovely grounds of the church. The damp weather faded away compared to the bright aura shining from these two!

In the meantime, the guests were bundled onto a red wedding bus to head off to the reception venue, where the new husband and wife joined them after their shoot.

The eclectic Sager + Wilde in Hackney Road was the celebration spot. A little vintage, a little old school, but a lot of character and a lot of fun!

Delectable food, amazing wine, and plenty of love and laughter were the theme of the next few hours. Speeches were said, memories were shared, and of course, the cake was cut. The couple shared their first dance, complete with all the good stuff - intimacy, fun, joy, and a final kiss!

I was privileged to be able to share Charlotte and Nathan’s special day and capture every detail. Their joyful attitudes and love for each other shone through every moment.
