This was a friendly, small civil ceremony in the centre of Winchester, Hampshire. There were around 20 guests plus the bride and groom and a lot of those guests were young children so the day had a very affectionate, family orientated atmosphere. Everyone was incredibly content and relaxed and I was charmed by how welcomed I was - which is reflected in this Hampshire wedding photography.
I have selected a few of my favourite shots from the entire wedding day which started at Wendy and Stephen's flat in the centre of the city. Being a wedding photographer in Winchester city centre proved a little trickier than expected; it was pointless driving between venues because of the one way system and busy traffic so I just walked everywhere; I dumped the car at the final venue in the morning, left behind tripods, monopods, cases and any other excess kit to lighten the load and I was off! I prefer to work with as little kit as possible, so this wedding really suited my style.
The wedding ceremony was held at Winchester Registry Office - quite a nice registry office. We then went to Winchester Cathedral for a walk around the grounds with the majority of the wedding party. Rather than doing formal group wedding photography we opted for a simple walk around the cathedral grounds with the kids, capturing natural wedding photography that truly represents the personalities and atmosphere of the wedding day.
The reception was held at The Pederson Winchester Hotel, coverage of the wedding continued through the drinks reception, speeches, evening mingling and the first dance.
