I had the pleasure of working with the very lovely Alex and Max from LA at the incredible Babington House in Somerset.
They'd planned everything from California with the help of the exceptionally talented team at Babington. This included a beautiful rehearsal drinks party on the Sunday within the walled garden at Babington and where everyone was treated to some particularly warm and characterful afternoon sun. This was shortly followed by several touching speeches and a meal in the main house.
Their main wedding day, which was nothing short of stunning, took place the very next day. It rained heavily on the day and admirably, Alex and Max both wanted to push ahead with the outdoor service they’d planned for and I'm so glad they did.
It was a truly amazing and memorable ceremony with Max’s dad acting as the celebrant. Guests huddled under umbrellas, even the string quartet playing under a couple of parasols. The atmosphere was palpable and I always become exceptionally aware of just how privileged I am to have been trusted to document such a personal event when things are so emotionally charged.
Once the ceremony was complete it was straight into party mode with some unforgettable video messages from Snoop Dogg, Chuck Liddell and Ron Jeremy - an incredible gift from the groom's friend. Some exceptionally heartfelt speeches during the meal (in fact I think there were around 12 speeches over the two days!) and a proper knees up on the dance floor.
