Naomi and Ian's wedding saw me travel down to the Cornwall for the weekend, I place I love to shoot. I must say just how much of a privilege it was to work with these two. It's been a turbulent few months for them with the very sad and unexpected passing of Naomi's mother. Testament to their infectiously positive outlook and amazing determination, the day went ahead as planned. It felt like a very moving and heartfelt tribute. It was truly touching.
All events took place in and around the small town of Bude with Naomi's preparations documented at the family home just minutes from Bude Methodist church. After the church service we paid the obligatory visit to the beach where it was particularly rough but offered some great light.
The reception was held at Widemouth Bay Manor where from late afternoon the light was incredibly low making for a more intimate atmosphere to work in. Not long after the speeches everyone ventured outside to let balloons go in memory of Naomi's mother.
Ian is also a wedding photographer and an incredibly nice chap, so it was particularly gratifying for me to document their day.
Below are just a few of my very favourites from my documentary wedding photography in Bude, Cornwall.
