Miriam and Michael's traditional wedding ceremony took place at Holy Rood Church in Shilton - a picturesque village in Oxfordshire. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to photograph during the ceremony, despite our incredibly discreet documentary wedding photography style.
The couple's wedding ceremony was swiftly followed by a classy drinks reception at Kingston Bagpuize House just a few minutes drive from the church and a venue I know very well. The beautiful tones during this wedding made for great black and white wedding photography.
The day was very family focussed with Miriam and Michael inviting only their nearest and dearest. Inevitably there were lots of children which I feel really adds to a wedding day. Kids are so unpredictable and fun, they often take the edge off what can sometimes be a serious event. It's good for photography too, for obvious reasons!
Moments we're delicate, quiet and a little tender, not all weddings are loud and bright, thankfully the majority of weddings I document are very real and honest and this is a perfect example. Below are just a few of my favourite documentary wedding photographs created alongside Alexis.
